3. How to Navigate ASTM Standards and PDF Content
1. Overview
Digital Codes Premium Complete subscribers now have expanded access to over 800 ASTM standards referenced across the 2021 and 2024 International Codes (I-Codes). Users can seamlessly traverse across the standards and view the full content in PDF format, making it easier to reference essential materials directly within the Digital Codes platform. By providing access to the specific versions referenced in the I-Codes, Digital Codes Premium ensures that professionals have the most accurate and up-to-date information at their fingertips. This update streamlines access to ASTM standards, reducing the need for external searches and ensuring compliance with I-Code requirements.
Key Enhancements
- Referenced Standards in I-Codes – The version available in Digital Codes is the exact version referenced within the 2021 or 2024 I-Codes, ensuring consistency and compliance.
- Full PDF Access – Premium Complete users can now view the complete content of ASTM standards in PDF format.
- Seamless Navigation – Browse ASTM standards across multiple categories for comprehensive research and application.
2. How to Access ASTM Standards
Navigate to the ASTM Standards Page. You will see a list of seven ASTM standard categories, seen in the below image and category list.
- Iron and Steel Materials
- Nonferrous Metal Materials
- Ceramic, Concrete, and Masonry Materials
- Miscellaneous Materials
- Miscellaneous Subjects
- Materials for Specific Applications
- Corrosion, Deterioration, and Degradation of Materials
Select the category that best aligns with your needs to view the full PDF content included within each category. For instance, by clicking the standard category Iron and Steel Materials, you will then view the full collection of ASTM standards within the category, as seen in the image below.
On the right side of the screen, there is also the option to easily jump to another ASTM standard category by clicking the category of your choice.
3. How to Navigate ASTM Standards and PDF Content
When clicking into a specific standard, you will then see the Overview of the title along with the ability to click into the full PDF content. On the Overview tab, you will notice the call-out that this version of the standard is the specific version referenced within the 2021 or 2024 I-Codes.
Towards the bottom of the Overview page, you will see the Related Titles listed (seen in the image above). By clicking into the Related Title, you will then navigate directly to the I-Code where the standard is referenced. In the above example, this link will lead to the 2021 International Building Code.
When clicking the second tab on the Contents bar seen on the left of the page, labeled as the standard’s name, this will then open the full PDF content for view, seen below.
