Will committee members have the opportunity to propose changes outside of the code change proposal window or in response to public comment drafts?

Because of uncertainty in the number of code change proposals received from the public and the potential volume of work by committee and subcommittee members, in order to assure consideration of a proposal for inclusion in the 2024 IECC, submission by the October 12 deadline is recommended. However, as the subcommittees consider the proposals received, committee members may propose their own language. The subcommittees may take up additional topics if time permits. Any committee generated proposals that are not considered in time for the 2024 IECC can be addressed under the continuous maintenance process.
