Is a committee member able to designate an alternate participant in case the primary member is unable to participate in a committee meeting?

Committee members may provide an alternate participant subject to approval of the Code Council Board of Directors. The alternate will need to submit an application during the open nominations process or in advance of being designated. If an alternate is participating in a committee meeting, they are expected to be prepared on the topics to be covered and in tune with the committee decisions to date to assure that their participation is not disruptive to the committee’s work.
