ICC AI Navigator offers quick, helpful replies to basic code questions, and is programmed to help users navigate our I-Codes like an expert.
AI Navigator uses Large Language Model (LLM) artificial intelligence to provide answers and guidance to the relevant code content for users of our Digital Codes platform. LLM AI tools like AI Navigator benefit from use and feedback by real users under real conditions. ICC has done extensive internal testing of this tool, but we intend to use feedback from our Beta to further refine and update it.
You must have an active Premium subscription to access this feature. If you are not a Premium user, you can visit the AI Navigator features page to know more about it –

Currently, AI Navigator is trained to answer simple code questions using the 2021 I-Codes (or 2018/2015 if desired). Expansion for support across custom code titles will be added in the future.
To access AI Navigator –
(1.) Sign-in to Digital Codes (https://codes.iccsafe.org/)
(2.) From the Menu, select Premium Tools -> ICC AI Navigator
(3.) You will see the AI Navigator page
(4.) Pre-populated questions
(4a.) When you are new to the feature, you can click one of the pre-populated questions
(4b.) The generating process will start, and the progress will be shown
(4c.) Once generated, the answer will be shown
(4d.) You can select “Clear chat” to clear the question and answer
(5.) Enter your question
(5a.) You can enter your question in the question box and click the arrow button in the box
(5b.) The generating process will start, and the progress will be shown
(5c.) Once generated, the answer will be shown
(5d.) You can click on a referenced section which will show the content below and the option to jump to that section
(5e.) You can rate the answer
(6.) You can select the code cycle for a question
(7.) You can stop generating a response in between of the generation process
(8.) You can click on “disclaimer” link to read the “User Notice and Disclaimer” text
(9.) You can click on “Learn more about AI Navigator” link to see the features page –
