How Do I Request a Refund? What is the Refund Policy?

The following guides provide information and instructions on how to request a refund for Code Council products:

Return Policy on Non-Digital Publications, Apparel, Accessories, and/or Tangible items: 

Products may be returned in new, resalable condition within 30 days. Claims for shortages or damage must be made within 5 days of receipt of merchandise.

All returns must include an ICC Merchandise Return Authorization number.  To obtain a return authorization please use the contact methods provided below:

Returned merchandise must be shipped prepaid to the ICC Distribution Center. Shipping charges are non-refundable unless there is an issue with your order.  ICC strongly recommends a courier with traceable options to ensure prompt and efficient delivery.

All returns are subject to a restocking fee of 20 percent of the original selling price. No refund will be issued on over payments less than $5.

Return Policy Digital Products:

All digital sales are FINAL to include PDF Downloads, eBooks, audio/video products and Subscriptions.   Please note subscriptions are able to be canceled to avoid renewal once purchased.  For help with these products (i.e., PDF Download, eBook, or Digital Premium Subscriptions), contact the Customer Success team (888)422-7233 opt.:0 or email eCodes@ICCsafe.org.

Return Policy on Exams:

For certification exams purchased through the Exam Catalog:

  • All exam purchases as FINAL
  • Before purchasing your exam make sure you verify the following information:
    • The exam title matches your desired exam
    • You have selected the correct code year
    • The testing method selected is correct
    • The first and last name on the account matches exactly as your government issued ID (Driver’s License or Passport)
  • If you would like to change the title of an examination that is of equal value, we must provide a refund and a repurchase of the correct exam would have to occur.

To get a refund for purchasing the wrong exam:

  • Obtain your Order Confirmation page that was emailed to you
  • Email and attach the Order Confirmation page with an explanation of the refund to customersuccess@iccsafe.org

If any discrepancies are noticed on your exam, email the Customer Success Center at customersuccess@iccsafe.org within 48 hours of the initial purchase.
